Meet The Team
Our Valued Partners

TRANSFORMATIVE EVALUATION TO CREATE A CULTURE OF EQUITY AND BELONGING IN MARIN COUNTY
Our team has partnered closely with equity leaders and champions at Marin County to assess world-class racial equity and social justice educational offerings by World Trust. Leading and learning with a diverse Guiding Council, we have engaged in participatory mixed methods research including surveys, Storytelling Sessions (the next evolution in in-depth interviews), and observations.
Both a Logic Model and a Theory of Change are also being developed to create a clear roadmap of the resources, inputs, outputs, and outcomes involved in leading culture change toward greater equity at the county. Quantitative and qualitative analyses also capture and assess differences in outcomes by subgroups, factors that act as enablers of or barriers to desired outcomes, and underlying assumptions and contextual factors.

EQUITY CLIMATE SURVEY
In collaboration with World Trust LLC, we have worked with this client to develop an Equity Climate Survey to assess their organizational equity climate at the individual, interpersonal, and institutional levels. This has included examining subgroup differences, internal processes, and power dynamics.
Their Climate Survey provided a cross-sectional assessment of current workplace dynamics, strengths and weaknesses, and serves as both a diagnostic tool highlighting areas for improvement and a roadmap for organizational change and future equity training.

City of Seattle, 2019-20
Constellation Rising LLC is conducting a transformative evaluation of a multi-racial learning cohort for supervisors, managers and HR advisors in local US-based city government--a first-of-its-kind anti-racism program! This has included piloting the RITES (Radical Indigenous Transformative Evaluation and Storytelling) Framework, working with a diverse Guiding Council, and conducting mixed methods Developmental Evaluation.
Both outcome and process evaluations have been conducted to capture both what is changing and why and how, centering BIPOC ways of knowing, being, seeing, and valuing. This evaluation effort has been deeply informed by the project's undergirding approach and framing by Sonali Sangeeta Balajee: Our Bodhi Project and the Bodhi Frame.

STRATEGIC PLANNING, PROCESS MAPPING, AND PARTICIPATORY YOUTH COUNCIL
This client came to Constellation Consulting LLC seeking to clarify and capture the strategic vision of their cutting-edge college and career readiness program that centers equity. We have helped this partner to capture and communicate how they improve student academic achievement and advancement into college or technical careers.
Services included executive leadership coaching, strategic visioning and planning, and transformative program evaluation. Highlights include developing a 360 evaluation tool, Environmental Scan, Gap Analysis, Conceptual Framework development, distillation of program principles and practices, and a Youth Participatory Evaluation Council (YPEC). Three high school teams of low-income and BIPOC teens learned about evaluation methods, designed and conducted novel research projects, and presented findings and recommendations to PPS leaders and staff.

King County Government
TRANSFORMATIVE EVALUATION WORKSHOP
This client approached us for consultation on how to integrate transformative evaluation, including equity-centered and anti-racist practice, into their local public governance structures. Our collaboration was brief but powerful and was led by Sonali Sangeeta Balajee.

GreeneWorks, 2018
LITERATURE REVIEW ON CHILD MARRIAGE
We supported GreeneWorks in a literature scoping review, determining if published articles, grey literature, and programmatic reports met criteria to be included in analysis of global efforts to address child marriage, linkages to poor health and life outcomes, and risk and protective factors. Services were provided in three languages: English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

NATIVE AMERICAN ADOLESCENT HEALTH PROGRAMS
We supported the Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health in preparing final evaluation reports, programmatic materials, and assessment toolkits for two programs (described below) designed to address health cries among Native Americans using Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR).
The Respecting the Circle of Life (RCL): Mind, Body Spirit program was part of the Domestic Violence Prevention Initiative, which focused on reducing substance use, improving reproductive health, and reducing unintended pregnancy among Native American youth. The Arrowhead Business Group (ABG) offered entrepreneurship education to protect against the interrelated risks of suicide, substance use (with a focus on Methamphetamines), and low school attachment among Native youth.
